'How much does a website cost?' That is usually the first or second question I need to answer when I speak with new clients. It's a valid question and knowing the answer up front is in everybody’s best interest.
99% of the time I answer that question with a question of my own; 'How much does a house cost?'
It depends on the house doesn't it? Are we talking an 1100 square foot townhouse or are you talking a seventeen bedroom, twelve bathroom 20,000 square foot monstrosity? Obviously, the price of the first will be far different from the second.
I find that using the house analogy is the easiest way for me to explain our pricing structure to clients.
For most projects our pricing is determined by our process.
'So how exactly do you work?' That is either question number two or three, depending on when they ask about pricing.
We typically break our projects into the following tasks:
So that brings us back to our original question; "How much does a website cost?" The correct answer is that it depends on the website. Typically our smaller client engagements start between $5000 - $20,000 and the larger ones can be upwards of $50,000.
